Surprise! A BL from the United States! (We do not and cannot call it that though). This is a wonderful BL series about high school boys who are in a gay relationship. I know this is a bit unorthodox to list this as a BL, but it certainly is and is especially well done. Sure, it has the discernment and mores of the American culture, but in a sense, it is still kind of ground-breaking.
If anyone is familiar with the phrase “Alla Famiglia” made famous from the movie “MOONSTRUCK”, this is its Vietnamese counterpart. It is all about family and trying to fit in.
I absolutely enjoyed this short BL series for its entertainment value. It was charming, sweet, enduring and had a surprisingly good message and story. It is a simple tale of individuals falling in love, experiencing unrequited feelings and overcoming jealousy. Furthermore, it is told clearly and effectively with great dialogue.
Winsome, sweet, fun, and absolutely adorable. This is a coming-of-age series filled with the cutest and honestly most androgynous looking actors I have ever seen. That is NOT a negative criticism, but simply an observational comment that added to the enjoyment of this series.
I believe this is the first BL series from Laos and it is definitely off to a good start. It is a familiar story though undoubtedly copied from its neighboring country, Thailand.
Brilliant, stunning, and a genuine love story. This is yet another fantastic Vietnamese BL series that more than outshines BL dramas from other countries, even those with legions of fans.
