Boat Yongyut is recently in the spotlight for his debut role Tim in the current on-air Thai BL drama “My Secret Love The Series”.
Coupled with a striking personality and charming looks, Boat Yongyut is making waves across the BL world, for his somber portrayal of a campus idol who is presumably in love with his childhood friend, Mai. Despite commenting on Tim’s wavering loyalties and emotions, avid fans can’t stop raving about Boat’s handsome looks. We were fortunate enough to interview him. Let’s unwind with this exclusive where Boats talks about his personal & professional life!
1) You are currently starring in on-air Thai BL ‘My Secret Love The Series’ as Tim. How did you get selected for this role? Share your experiences!
คุณรับบททิมในซีรีส์เรื่อง ‘My Secret Love The Series’ ช่วยเล่าว่าคุณได้รับเลือกให้มารับบทบาทนี้อย่างไร แบ่งปันประสบการณ์ของคุณให้เราฟังหน่อย
It all began with the casting. When it came down to casting, the casting team provided us with acting roles in a variety, under the conditions they stipulated. I didn’t think I was a good fit for any one character at that moment. We can’t choose characters on our own that were similar to or resemble them in any way. I wasn’t cast as Tim up to the very last day of character announcements. I may appear to be a quiet, collected person who is difficult to get a hold of, but that isn’t how I actually am. Hahahaha
ก็เริ่มจากการมาแคสติ้งเลยครับตอนที่มาแคสติ้งทางฝ่ายแคสติ้งก็ให้เราแอ็คติ้งด้วยบทบาทต่างๆ ในสถานการณ์ที่ทางแคสติ้งกำหนด ตอนนั้นผมก็ลองทำดูครับก็ไม่ได้คิดว่าตัวเองเหมาะกับคาแรกเตอร์ไหนเป็นพิเศษเพราะผมว่า เรื่องการเลือกคาแรกเตอร์เราไม่สามารถกำหนดตัวเองได้ว่าตัวเองจะเป็นเหมือนใครหรือมีคาแรกเตอร์คล้ายๆ ใคร จนสุดท้ายวันที่ประกาศคาแรกเตอร์ผมก็ได้รับบทเป็นทิมครับ อาจจะด้วยความดูภายนอกผมดูนิ่งๆ ดูเข้าถึงยากแต่จริงๆ ผมไม่ได้เป็นแบบนั้นนะครับ55555
2) In “My Secret Love The Series”, you are playing a character who pursues the main lead, Kimhan. At the same time, Tim also seems to have feelings for his best friend, Mai. How much do you co-relate to this storyline and the ensuing romance?
ใน “My Secret Love The Series” คุณเล่นเป็นตัวละครที่ตามจีบคิมหันต์ ในขณะเดียวกัน ทิมก็ดูเหมือนจะมีความรู้สึกต่อไม้เพื่อนสนิทด้วย คุณมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับเนื้อเรื่องนี้และความโรแมนติกที่ตามมามากแค่ไหน
Personally, I’ve never experienced this situation, in which one of my closest friends starts liking me again while I prefer someone else. I would have no idea what to do if this really does happen to me. If I like a friend who is in love with someone else, my life will become quite complicated.
ส่วนตัวผมไม่เคยเจอโมเมนต์นี้เลยครับโมเมนต์ที่แบบเราชอบอีกคนนึงแล้วก็เพื่อนที่เราสนิทมากๆ กลับมาชอบเราอีกถ้ามันเกิดเรื่องนี้ขึ้นกับตัวผมจริงๆ ผมว่าผมคงทำตัวไม่ถูกเลยครับเพราะว่าเพื่อนเราก็รักกับอีกคนนึงเราก็ชอบถ้าเกิดขึ้นจริงๆ ช่วงนั้นชีวิตคงสับสนมากๆ
3) You seem to have good rapport and refreshing chemistry with your “My Secret Love” co-star HP Kenji? How comfortable are you both working with each other?
คุณมีเคมีที่เข้ากันดีกับเคนจิ นักแสดงร่วมจากละครเรื่อง “My Secret Love The Series” พวกคุณมีความสบายใจในการทำงานร่วมกันแค่ไหน
We get along so well at work that I sometimes think of Kenji as my real brother. He is such a lovely young man. When we work together, in the scenes, it seems like there is a sense of believing and everything goes well.
มากในระดับที่คิดว่าเคนจิคือน้องชายแท้ๆ ของเราเลยครับ น้องเป็นเด็กที่น่ารักมาก เวลาที่เราทำงานด้วยกัน เข้าซีนด้วยกัน เหมือนมันมีความรู้สึกที่เชื่อกันอยู่หรืออะไรบางอย่างที่ทำให้ทำงานออกมาได้ดี
4) How much do you relate to your character Tim in the show? Any similarities or differences?

The difference between Tim and me, in my opinion, is probably one of neatness and orderliness. My personality tends to be silly. Tim, nevertheless, has a certain aura that makes others (who are not close to him) think that he is difficult to reach.
ก็คงเป็นเรื่องความเนี๊ยบกับความเป็นระเบียบในชีวิตครับผมจริงๆ ค่อนข้างจะเป็นคนโก๊ะๆ แต่ทิมเค้าจะเป็นคนที่ดูมีออร่าอะไรบางอย่างที่คนภายนอกมองเค้าแล้วจะรู้สึกว่าคนๆ นี้เข้าถึงยาก
5) Tell us a little more about yourself? Your likes, dislikes and favorites? What kind of movies/dramas do you prefer to watch?
ช่วยบอกพวกเราเกี่ยวกับตัวคุณเองเล็กๆ น้อยๆ คุณชอบหรือไม่ชอบอะไร อะไรคือสิ่งที่โปรดปราน หนัง/ซีรีส์ประเภทไหนที่ชอบดู
The things I enjoy- I like sour and spicy meals if it’s food. But when it comes to dessert, I really enjoy soft cookies. However, if I’m having a drink at this time, I like Iced Chocolate Mint (not too sweet).
About the animals I adore, I don’t have a favorite breed of animal in particular. I like all animals; they are so cute, so I am unable to pick just one. But if there is one type of animal that I dislike, it would be insects with numerous legs, such as centipedes and spiders.
Now, my favorite film or television show. I enjoy Marvel Studios films, particularly Doctor Strange, but Netflix’s Lock and Key Family is my favorite series.
ก็สิ่งที่ชอบนะครับถ้าเป็นอาหารก็คงจะกินอาหารที่มีรสเปรี้ยวเผ็ดหน่อยหน่อย แต่ถ้าเป็นขนมเนี่ยก็จะชอบซอร์ฟคุกกี้เป็นพิเศษครับ แต่ถ้าเป็นเครื่องดื่มช่วงนี้ก็จะอินกับช็อกโกแลต มิ้นท์เย็นหวานน้อยครับ
สัตว์ที่ชอบเนี่ยจริงๆ ไม่ได้ชอบสัตว์ตัวไหนเป็นพิเศษเลยครับ ผมว่าสัตว์ทุกตัวบนโลกนี้มันน่ารักไปหมด ตรงนี้ก็ขอไม่เลือกแล้วกัน แต่ถ้าเป็นสัตว์ที่เกลียดเนี่ยก็จะเป็นพวกแมลงครับที่มีหลายๆ ขาอย่างเช่น ตะขาบ แมงมุม อะไรแบบนี้ครับ
แล้วก็หนังหรือซีรีส์ที่ชอบ ถ้าเป็นหนังเนี่ยก็จะชอบหนังของค่ายมาเวลสตูดิโอส์เป็นพิเศษครับอย่างเช่นเรื่อง Doctor Strange แต่ถ้าเป็นซีรีส์ก็จะชอบ ซีรีส์ใน Netflix เรื่อง Lock and key Family ครับ
6) Thailand is currently seeing a sudden surge of BL dramas? What do you feel about this? What is your opinion about BL content?
ตอนนี้ในไทยกำลังมีซีรีส์ BL เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างกะทันหัน ความคิดเห็นของคุณเกี่ยวกับเนื้อหา BL คืออะไร คุณรู้สึกอย่างไรเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้
Regarding the rise in BL series, I believe it shows that LGBTQIA+ people are genuinely being accepted more in Thailand, which is a very good thing. As for the current situation, the series’ content will be more intense than before. It may depend on people’s current media consumption needs. However, despite this, I would say that the BL Series is about offering a viewpoint on life, showing one’s life or the lives of a group of individuals who live like a regular person would, with sadness, happiness, and love.
ถ้าถามถึงการเพิ่มขึ้นของซีรีส์วาย ผมว่ามันก็เป็นการบ่งบอกบางสิ่งบางอย่างว่าในประเทศไทยเนี่ย มีการยอมรับในกลุ่มบุคคลเพศทางเลือกมากขึ้นจริงๆ ซึ่งมันเป็นสิ่งที่ดีมากๆ ส่วนในเรื่องของเนื้อหาในปัจจุบัน เนื้อหาของซีรีส์ก็จะมีความเข้มข้นมากขึ้นกว่าเมื่อก่อน อาจจะขึ้นอยู่กับความต้องการในการเสพสื่อของผู้คนในปัจจุบัน แต่ทั้งนี้ทั้งนั้น ผมอยากจะบอกว่า ซีรีส์วาย มันก็คือการนำเสนอมุมมองชีวิต นำเสนอชีวิตของคนคนหนึ่ง หรือคนกลุ่มนึง ว่าเขาก็มีการดำเนินชีวิตเหมือนบุคคลทั่วไป มีทุกข์ มีสุข มีความรัก ประมาณนี้ครับ
7) Will you continue to work in BL dramas in the future? If yes, then what kind of scripts would you prefer?
คุณจะยังคงทำงานในวงการซีรีส์ BL ต่อไปในอนาคตหรือไม่ ถ้าใช่ คุณอยากได้บทบาทประเภทใด
In the future, I think I still want to work in the BL series industry. If there is still a chance, I will definitely continue. At this moment, I am unable to say what part I would like to play in the future. Right now, I can’t specify what role I want to play. However, in order to allow further growth, I would prefer the role to be more difficult or challenging.
ในอนาคตสำหรับผมตอนนี้คิดว่ายังอยากทำงานอยู่ในวงการซีรีส์วาย ถ้ายังมีโอกาสผมก็จะทำต่อแน่นอนครับ แต่ถ้าถามว่าในอนาคตอยากรับบทบาทเป็นอะไร ตอนนี้ผมยังเจาะจงไม่ได้ครับว่าอยากได้รับบทเป็นอะไร แต่ถ้าเป็นไปได้ก็อยากให้มันท้าทายมากขึ้น หรือเป็นบทบาทที่ยากขึ้นเพื่อให้ตัวเองได้พัฒนาขึ้นไปอีกครับ
8) We have a lot of BL fans and members of the LGBTQ+ community as our avid readers. Do you have any advice or message to share with your fans?
เรามีผู้อ่านที่เป็นแฟน BL และอยู่ในกลุ่ม LGBTQ+ เป็นจำนวนมาก คุณมีคำแนะนำหรือข้อความที่จะฝากถึงแฟน ๆ ของคุณหรือไม่
I would like to let everyone know that I have always supported the LGBTQ+ community. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported our series during its production and airing. We are so grateful to have you by our side at all times.
