Thai BL is churning out intriguing storylines at an alarming rate. As such, recently two of the most anticipated dramas of 2021 held their blessing ceremonies.
Both were star-studded events with alot of fanfare. As promised, “The BL Xpress” bring you exclusive pictures from the events. Buckle your seatbelts, because this is going to be an enjoyable ride!
Secret Admirer The Series
Probably the most anticipated Thai BL, this adaptation is majorly popular because it was tailored as a comeback for the show’s lead actors Earth Teerapat and Art Pakpoom. Director Aam Anusorn Soisa-ngim made true on his promise and has designed the perfect opportunity for the return of these talented men to the Boys’ Love by casting them in prominent roles. As such, official fandoms are waiting with bated breaths for news related to the show’s commencement. On 22nd March 2021, the cast and crew of “Secret Admirer The Series” held their blessing ceremony which will officially herald the beginning stage of the production. The shooting will commence soon as the show is set to premiere in the first half of 2021. Adapted from popular author Jamie’s novel of the same name, “Secret Admirer The Series” follows the journey of a junior (Kimhan) who secretly loves his senior (Singto) but does not have the courage to reveal his true feelings.
Synopsis-
Worrapat Rungreungwattana is just an ordinary guy who lives an ordinary life, but his heart is taken by a senior whom he had secretly admired since his university days. Poramet Potiwat is a nice young man who speaks very little. He prefers to express his emotions via his gaze rather than his words. Even though he is a quiet man, he likes to help others and is very kind. Worrapat recently moved to the house next door to Poramet just before he started his first year of university. It could be mere coincidence or fate, but not only were their houses next to one another, but the two of them studied at the same university and in the same faculty, even if they were in different years. The senior’s kindness, however, slowly changed the admiring gaze from the junior next door little by little, developing into a love which would change their relationship forever.
Starring Earth Teerapat and newcomer Fluk Chatchawan in titular roles, the Thai BL fandom is abuzz with anticipation related to their onscreen chemistry as well as off screen camaraderie. Earth Teerapat is quite popular for his close friendship and sensual chemistry with Benjamin Brasier (his co-star in 2moons2 The Series). Will he be able to recreate the same magic again with Fluk? Only time will reveal the answer to this question!
Also, alongside the main couple, we have the parallel romantic storylines of three more couples, Mhai (Art Pakpoom) with Tim (Boat Yongyut), Bomb (Yut Kritsadayut) with Bear (Bew Sitthikarn) as well as Phing (Kaprao Pongkorn) with Bung (Leoji Jirasin). KinnPorsche The Series
Marketed as the first ever mafia BL drama and directed by Pongchaiphat Sethanand , “KinnPorsche The Series”, the anticipation related to this “Boss and Bodyguard Romance” is inevitably high. The show has an eclectic mix of veteran actors as well as newcomers that will spearhead this storyline that majorly focuses on the greed and dangerous situations surrounding the mafia world.
Synopsis-
The second son of the Mafia, Kinn Anakinn, is assaulted by an enemy causing him to flee from them until he is unknowingly rescued by Porsche Pitchaya – a young student who is working as as a part-time waiter at an entertainment establishment. Although Porsche saw the scene in the establishment, he doesn’t pay much attention to it. Until Kinn makes an offer. If Porsche could save him from his enemies, he would pay a certain amount in return. Porsche, who has a martial arts degree and is a national judo champion, decides to get involved and helps Kinn escape. Due to his striking combat skills, Kinn wants to hire Porsche to be his personal bodyguard. Porsche opposes and rejects Kinn, who would do anything to get what he wanted. After being terrorised by Kinn’s enemies and Kinn, he is left with no choice but to accept Kinn’s offer. He is afraid that that only person he loves, his brother Porché Pitchaya, would get hurt. Porsche accepts Kinn’s ridiculous agreements and moves in to live with him. As they inevitably grew closer, Porsche gets entangled in a web of unexpected events.
The premise certainly seems intriguing and is invariably different from the frequent college romances. Starring Mile Phakphum Romsaithong (Kinn) and Apo Nattawin Wattanagitiphat (Porsche) in titular roles, the show’s production house recently had their blessing ceremony on 18th March, 2021. The cast and crew which includes popular actors Tong Thanayut (Tankhun), Jeff Satur (Kim), Gameplay Garnpaphon (Porsché), Mine Kampon (Macao), Build Jakapan (Pete), Bible Wichapas (Vegas), Green Phongsathorn (Time), Us Nititorn (Tae), Perth Nakhun (Mek), Toto Supatad (Jom), Pete Thongchua (Korn), Piya Wimouktayon (Kan), Boston Komwit and others were in attendance. Filmania, the show’s production house also arranged a press conference to introduce their actors and the event was certainly glitzy and star-studded!
